Does this work with the correct formatting?

Here’s a numbered list.
- Today is December 10th.
- Tomorrow is December 11th.
- Here goes another awesome list!
The numbers in the numbered list seem to be off-margin. What about “smart quotes”?
Smart quotes don’t work, nor do apostrophes. Slightly disappointed.
