In Macau
I am currently in Macau, on “vacation.” I’m visiting family as I usually do once every three to four years. Every time I come back, something always changes.
This time, the city has modernized a bit more, and there are many more Vegas-styled casinos. I have yet to visit them, but I will make sure that I do before I leave.
Worksick
The first day I got to Hong Kong and Macau (I flew to Hong Kong and traveled to Macau by sea), I was so ready to either 1) go home in the Bay Area, or 2) go “home” in Macau. The second choice was closer and was the original planned, so it was an inevitable winner.
I told the team I work with at Zynga that I would try to be accessible by email, maybe once in a while. But now, I check it almost everyday, almost obsessively, for new developments while I’m gone. It’s definitely not because Macau is not a good place for “vacation” and I am resorted to think about work, which it’s not; it’s that I can’t stop thinking about work even though Macau is such a nice place to stay for a few weeks.
Pre-Macau
Before I left for Macau, I had been continuing to try to build a rapport with my team. I’m also becoming more familiar every day with how the company works, which is always something nice to learn.
I’m not sure if I mentioned this in the previous update, but the people I work with are amazingly talented. One of our leaders mentioned that we got an all-star team, and I can tell why he thinks that! It’s a great team, and I wish I can continue to work with this team if I’m given the chance.
That’s that for now, this month’s update is pretty short because it’s getting late over here and I’d like to get up early so I don’t miss too much, if I also stop checking work email, that is.
Flush.

When you get back, while you’re working at Zynga you should come stop by my work. I can hook you up with free tea or any other drink =)
