Last weekend, the family and I went to the Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay, California. Believe it or not, I’ve never been to a pumpkin festival or a pumpkin anything. But since I have a nephew now, the family has half a reason to go out and explore places we haven’t seen.

Here’s a more panoramic view of Macau from my aunt’s apartment in 2005. The merge from last week can be seen on the left side of this image.

This is a typical view of Macau from an apartment building. Next week, I will show a wider view from the same location.

I found in my archives a couple merges I did way back in Macau, China, in 2005 with my first camera. This is sort of fitting because in just over a month, I will be back in Macau for a few weeks. So I’m showing you this one this week, and I will show another Macau merge next week.

Last year was my town South San Francisco’s Centennial, and to celebrate, a tower of lights that vertically spelled out “1 0 0″ was put up on Sign Hill, unofficially named for the giant cement letters on the side of the hill facing the city that read, “SOUTH / SAN FRANCISCO / THE INDUSTRIAL CITY”. You can see a part of the “1 0 0″ tower in the background of the Archives section.

Last year, two of my friends moved into a two-bedroom apartment in Foster City, California. At the housewarming, I discovered this awesome water view, and I had to take a panoramic photo of it.

Last summer, my friends and I went to Napa (most of us for the first time) to go wine tasting. It was a nice experience, though our time was limited, considering our scheduling conflicts. We got to one of the wine tasting places, called V. Sattui, about an hour before closing, we tasted some wines, and we went to one of the nearby small towns to have dinner.

In the summer before I left Davis, I took the opportunity to walk around and take some photos in the Green Belt in North Davis. It was beautiful and quiet, although it was sort of creepy as I could’ve been mugged or could’ve been mistaken to be a mugger by people taking that nightly stroll.

Part 3 of the day(s) of museums series in early July 2007. Outside of the Exploratorium at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The angles are a bit warped from where I was shooting the photos, but it’s still nice.

I shot a couple more photomerge series during my museum visits to SFMOMA, de Young, and the Exploratorium. These merges show the funky merge process that Photoshop undergoes when the angles get more extreme than expected.

In early July of 2007, I took advantage of the First Tuesday (or Wednesday) of the Month free admission program for many major San Francisco museums and took quick tours of SFMOMA, de Young, and the Exploratorium. Fortunately, the weather was nice for the two days and I got to take some beautiful photos outside.

I was going to show three merges that I’ve done, but decided against it since they are all basically of the same subject: the water and surrounding greenery, which are nonetheless beautiful.

Two years ago, after graduation and spending my last summer in Davis, I finally had some time to take photos of beautiful Davis I often see but could never fully appreciate during the school year. Here are some merged photos that I took.

In Spring of 2007, a group of designer friends and I went on a weekend trip to Point Reyes and Healdsburg. One of our friends’ family owns a vineyard in Healdsburg, and we had the chance to stay at the friend’s beautiful house and wake up to this in the morning.
Just to clarify, this is no Photomerge tool on the iPhone, at least it is not shipped that way. Actually, I’m testing the quality of iPhone 3G S’s photo camera by trying to merge a series of photos seamlessly without too much contrast.

I wanted to capture the day where all my research and data collection and all-nighters had come to fruition. This was where I presented the Why Don’t We Care? research report.

Gonna post a calm one this week. Once in a while, the evening sky outside my window gets so gorgeous I couldn’t help but take photos of it. This is just an okay one in 2006. And as always, these things look even better in person.

Another merge from the Day in the City in 2006. This is inside the base of the Coit Tower in San Francisco.

In late July 2006, my friends and I spent a day in the city of San Francisco and I took this opportunities to get some nice panoramic views.

Three years ago, my family and I went to Mexico for the first time in our first cruise. It was as much fun as a 20-year-old can have on a cruise to Mexico with his family.

Took a bunch of photomerge photos from a Tahoe trip with a group of designer friends at the end of 2005–06 school year almost three years ago. These were the three that probably serve the most interest to the general public as opposed to the specific people on the trip. And I also took these from my older camera that didn’t have manual aperture/shutter speed control so the blending of images aren’t so seamless in some areas.
In honor of Colab 3 opening today in Davis, here are two photomerges I made of Colab 1 back in 2007.
