In late July 2006, my friends and I spent a day in the city of San Francisco and I took this opportunities to get some nice panoramic views.

A few years ago, I wanted to learn more about letterforms of common typefaces in an attempt to have a closer bond with them and to become more aware of thire details and their curves.
In honor of Colab 3 opening today in Davis, here are two photomerges I made of Colab 1 back in 2007.

Download page for Necessity 1.0 on FontStruct.
1.0 includes: basic alphabet, basic punctuations, hiragana, and katakana. No special alphabet.

It even comes in Japanese hiragana and katakana!

I worked on these a year ago, but finally with the re-launch of the Type Experiments section do I get to post this up. I created these on Fontstruct by Fontshop, and it’s sort of an initial test of Fontstruct’s capabilities.
And the fonts are available for download for free (TrueType only)! Morse Square 1.0. Morse Round 1.0.
Now that I’m “caught up” with my old form studies, here are a couple entries that some people (e.g. my Design classmate friends) might recognize.

Fire throwing or whatever they call it at Uncanny in Davis. 31 May 2007.

Building the Collabench in the Art Gallery in UC Davis. 19 May 2007.

Exploring materials for the Form Poster for the Form, Pattern, and Texture class in UC Davis Design. January 2007. My word was “pest.”
